  • Email report from Nikki Maquire:
    • Merit Badge Counselors who did not correctly complete the renewal that went out last year (didn’t check the MBC box on the renewal) were given a 3 month grace period and cancelled as of yesterday. I talked with Council yesterday and found a way to get them fairly quickly reinstated which I tested with two people last night…and it worked!! I just sent an email with this information to all Scoutmasters and Committee Chairs in our district.
    • I have been asked to reach out to troops who have not had advancement recorded this year. I will do this as soon as the bru-ha-ha around the merit badge counselors dies down.
    • Camping/Summer Camp update, given some large changes to some merit badges for 2025 (First Aid, as an example), the teaching plans for these badges need to be updated for the camps which is potentially impacting the schedules (some badges will take longer to teach than the previously allocated times). The merit badge class schedules should be out by Sunday night or Monday morning; please be sure to look closely at them as they may be different than prior years.

  • Our district’s Cub Scout Day Camp is open for registration.
    June 23rd to June 27th 2025 at Marina Park in San Leandro.
